The significance and role of indoor green decoration refer to the use of ornamental materials, mainly indoor foliage plants, based on the characteristics of the indoor environment.
It combines the needs of people's daily lives to beautify and decorate objects and spaces.
This beautification is designed, decorated, and arranged according to the needs of people's material and spiritual lives. It complements the entire indoor environment, integrating indoor and outdoor spaces, embodying the combination of dynamism and tranquility, and achieving harmony between people, indoor environments, and nature. It represents a significant breakthrough in traditional architectural decoration.
Due to the characteristics of indoor spaces and the different types, postures, and fragrances of plants, there are various ways to arrange plants:

1. Solitary Planting:

This is a flexible form using various plants suitable for close-up indoor viewing. The posture and color of the plants should be beautiful and vivid, leaving a deep impression.
It is often used in visual centers or transitional spaces. Attention should be paid to the relationship between the plant and the background in color and texture, with sufficient light to highlight and set off.

2. Symmetrical Arrangement (Pair Planting):

It involves arranging plants symmetrically and correspondingly. It can be a single plant or a combination of plants. This is commonly used at entrances, stairs, and both sides of main activity areas.

3. Group Planting:

This includes grouping similar plants to highlight their natural characteristics and mixing different types of plants to mimic natural landscapes. The arrangement should be balanced, combining shapes and colors, creating a rich and layered scenic view. Typically, smaller, beautiful, colorful plants are placed in the front, while larger, dense green plants are positioned in the back.
According to the ability to change or move, the configurations can be classified as fixed or unfixed:

Fixed Configuration:

Plants are directly planted in predetermined locations after construction, such as flower beds, flower pots, railings, pergolas, and garden landscapes. Once cultivated, they are not changed.

Unfixed Configuration:

Plants are planted in containers, allowing them to be changed or moved at any time, providing greater flexibility. Other configurations include climbing, hanging, suspended, inlaid, wall-mounted forms, bonsai, flower arrangements, and aquatic plant configurations.

Selection of Green Plants:

1. From an ornamental perspective, indoor greenery includes appreciating flowers, leaves, fruits, and fragrances. When selecting specific plants, consider whether the colors match the indoor theme, whether the plant's form and scent are suitable, and whether the size is appropriate.
2. you can choose flowering plants like roses, pomegranates, and chrysanthemums for well-lit and well-ventilated rooms. Alternatively, you can select foliage-focused plants like pines, cypresses, and firs.
3. To create lush and graceful greenery, select shade-tolerant plants such as iron trees, evergreens, boxwoods, and ivy in areas with insufficient light.
4. For indoor spaces with little sunlight, choose shade-loving plants such as bamboo palm, parlor palm, snake plant, water bamboo, and peace lily.
